Modification of the granting prosecution before the EPO from July 1st, 2002 (03-2002)

On July 1st, 2002, the granting prosecution before the European Patent Office will be modify.  The new Rule 51 EPC shall apply to all European patent applications in respect of which a communication under existing Rule 51(4) EPC has not yet been despatched by that date.

For Euro-PCT applications, the prosecution begins with communication under Rule 51(4) EPC.

- Shall pay the fees for grant and printing and, when appropriate, the fees for any claim beyond 10.

- Shall file a translation of the claims in the two other official languages (to be filed in a sole exemplar).
