Particulars relating to the inventor or to each of them in case of a plurality of inventors
Name, first names and address.
The designation of inventor(s) can be filed after the filing, within a 16-month period from the filing date or when a priority has been claimed, from the priority date.
When the applicant is not the inventor or is not the sole inventor, a statement must be provided, indicating the origin of the right to the patent : by the fact that the applicant is the employer, by an agreement for example relating to an assignment or to a search agreement (with optional indication of the date of the agreement) ...
Particulars relating to the patent application
A European patent application can be filed in one of the three official languages of the EPO (English, French, German).
Designation of Contracting States
The designation has to be done at the filing. It is also possible to designate extension states (the fee is not the same). The payment of the designation fees and extension fees shall be done within 6 months from the mention of the publication of the Search Report. By default, all the Contracting States are designated in the filing form.
Particulars relating to the priority (if a priority is claimed) or to each priority (in case of multiple prority)
Country ; filing date ; filing number ; and an official copy of the priority document (which can still be validly filed within a 16-month period from the priority date).
If the language of the previous application is not an official language of the EPO, a translation in an official language will have to be filed at the granting of the European patent.
If the European patent application is the exact translation of the priority document, we shall indicate it at the filing in order to avoid the need of filing the translation.
Request for examination
The request for examination may be presented at the filing and until a term of six months from the mention in the European Patent Bulletin of the publication of the search report.
Earlier Search Report
When you already have a search report prepared by the EPO and relating to the application from which the priority is claimed, it should be provided in order to possibly benefit from a total or partial refund of the European Search fee.
Power of attorney
No power of attorney is needed.
