Iranian Industrial Property Office's Policy

According to section 4 of article 2 of the Regulations for the Registration of Trade Marks, if a trade mark has been registered abroad, it is imperative to file a certified copy of registration certificate from the home or any other foreign country along with the application.

If an application is based on a foreign trade mark application, the Iranian Registrar will keep it pending, for a period of six months, until the issuance of registration certificate at home or in another foreign country. This grace period is extendable once, for a one-year period, upon expiry of which the application would be rejected.
