The Industrial Property in the World
|
- The international law of the Intellectual Property (industrial property and copyrights) is governed by :
- International Conventions administrated by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), such as the PCT, PLT, SPLT, the Madrid Agreement and Protocol, Berne Convention, Paris Convention .... ; and
- the agreement concerning the international trade related industrial property aspects TRIP's Agreement, administred by the World Trade Organization (WTO).
- Economic communities have concluded treaties or mandat agreements in which the industrial property is addressed to :
- European Union: (see the map) ;
- NAFTA: Canada, USA, Mexico
- MERCOSUR: Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay, Chile and Bolivia being associated members
- Andean Pact: Bolivia, Equador, Colombia, Venezuela, Peru
- Some countries have merged in order to grant an industrial property title by a unique procedure :
- Unique territories grant unique titles for the whole territory :
- Each state has its proper law administred by the Intellectual or Industrial Property Offices.
